Vital connects to your existing systems and turns real-time clinical data into a guided experience for patients and staff. It's designed to fit alongside your EHR with minimal effort from your team.
The basics
We read data; we don't write back. Vital receives a real-time copy of the relevant data from your EHR and never writes into your system, so there's no impact on your clinical workflows or documentation.
We meet you where you are. Vital supports both HL7v2 and FHIR, so most health systems can connect using interfaces and standards they already have.
Data is secure in transit. Data is exchanged over encrypted channels — HTTPS, SFTP, or VPN.
How the flow works
Your EHR and source systems generate data as patients move through care.
That data is sent to Vital over a secure, encrypted connection.
The Vital platform receives it in real time, identifies the patient, and follows their visit from arrival through discharge.
Vital powers two experiences from that data: a patient experience (invites, real-time status, wait-time estimates, and education) and a clinician experience through the Vital Care Team app.
What drives the experience
As a patient moves through their visit, different kinds of data keep their experience current — registration and visit updates establish and track the visit, while orders, results, and clinical notes drive the step-by-step updates a patient sees. You choose the feeds that match the products you've enabled.
