Your Checklist gives patients a short list of things they can do during the wait that make the visit faster or smoother. It appears on the visit page in Vital Emergency, and each card explains why the step helps, so patients act on it rather than ignore it.
The Your Checklist card on the visit page
What the checklist asks
Cards are practical and specific, and several quote the time they can save. Examples from the app:
"An early urine sample could save you 30+ minutes"
"Having a list of your medications ready could save you 15+ minutes"
"Planning your ride home could save you 15+ minutes"
"Save up to 15 min later by confirming your details now"
Other cards ask the patient to confirm their primary care doctor, contact details and insurance, to rate their experience, to recognise a member of the care team, and to let staff know before leaving, since "Leaving the ER could increase your risk of a serious health event".
Adults and children
The checklist is not customised per facility, but it does change with the patient. When the visit is for a child, cards address the parent or carer directly, for example "Speak up for your child's needs" and "Stay calm, your child watches you", and ask that calls be ended when staff arrive so the child has the team's full attention.
Why it matters
Each card removes a delay the care team would otherwise absorb: a sample not yet produced, a medication list assembled from memory, or a ride arranged only at discharge. The checklist moves that work into the wait, where the patient has time for it.
